About India Travel Dreams
The India Travel Blog developed by Ryan Amar
India Travel Dreams is my attempt to share some of my own India travel experiences, India travel tips and India travel advice with the world. Friends and family are always asking me for guidance (because I’ve spent a lot of time here) so I thought it would be a good idea to develop a website instead of repeating myself all the time! India is a huge country and there are still many places I haven’t seen, so rather than copying and pasting generic information from the Internet, I tend to write only about locations I’ve visited and know pretty well.
I come from an Indian family, which I believe gives me a deeper insight into the Indian culture compared to your average Jo-on-the-road, but it’s important for me to make it clear that I was actually born and raised in London and a lot of the content on this website has been written from the perspective of a British-Asian traveling in India.
The bulk of my India travels have also been as a backpacker and that’s to say my outlook is typically drawn from my own experiences as a budget traveller. I also tend to focus on writing about the subjects that interest me most, namely spirituality, outdoor activities and nature. In other words, I know a lot more about beautiful beaches and tiger safaris than I do about shopping malls and fine dining in the big cities.
India is changing at such a rate nowadays and I try my best to keep the information on this site updated. If you notice something that needs to be refreshed, then please contact me for the sake of other readers. If you like what you see on this blog then I would greatly appreciate if you could comment on my posts and share the content with others (sharing links can be found at the bottom of most pages). You can also follow me on instagram (use the link below) and/or subscribe to my mailing list (no spammy emails I promise). Thanks for reading and I hope you find the following pages useful…Happy travels! X
My Story.
I’ve travelled to India many times over the years and during that period have visited many major tourist attractions. It’s been a bumpy ride to say the least, but my adventures in India encompass some of the best moments in my life. Besides visiting the Taj Mahal, India has seen me; start a business, fall in love, rescue a beached-dolphin, share a bed with a family of twelve, dangle my feet over the nose of a wild tiger, swim with elephants, trek through snowy mountains, dodge snakes, bathe with thousands of pilgrims, sleep in the desert, get robbed, get scammed, catch a few lurgies and almost drown in the Ganges! I currently live in London and spend my professional time developing and launching online businesses. My latest venture is inspired by Ayurveda…
My passions (other than travelling in India of course) are cooking, strumming my guitar and keeping fit. I’m a pretty keen tennis player, regularly practice yoga, love a game of chess and spend anytime in between developing new business ideas, making things with wood or being active outdoors!
